CGI Construction in Ontario, CA | Hampton Contractors
We install, repair, and reface CGI cabinetry throughout Ontario, and we’ve serviced enough of these kitchens across the 91761, 91762, and 91764 ZIPs to know exactly how the product behaves here. The short version: we’re an independent CGI service provider, not manufacturer-affiliated, and the single biggest factor in how your cabinets hold up in Ontario comes down to one thing – whether your home sits on the older clay-soil slab tracts or a newer engineered-fill subdivision. Call (833) 467-4075 for a free estimate, and we’ll tell you which camp your house falls into.
Why Ontario Residents Choose Us for CGI Service
We’ve been working with CGI’s Ready-to-Assemble all-plywood shaker lines, the pre-assembled semi-custom cabinets, and their quartz and granite countertop programs for years, which means the hinges, glides, and face frames aren’t new to us. When a CGI box comes out of level on an Ontario slab floor, we’ve seen it before. When a drawer guide binds up from Santa Ana grit, we know the fix and we stock the right parts to make it. Brent Calloway, who leads our crew, grew up in the High Desert and cut his teeth on slab-on-grade construction, so a half-inch floor dip in a 1962 tract home isn’t a surprise to him. It’s a Tuesday. You can read more about our broader CGI sales & service work, but if you’re in Ontario, this is the team that understands what your house is doing to your cabinets.

Common CGI Construction Problems We Solve in Ontario
Every product has failure points. In Ontario, the climate and the housing stock combine to make certain ones show up more often than others. Here’s what we see most:
- Sagging doors and drawer glides on out-of-level slabs. The 1950s-to-1970s tract homes in the 91761/91762/91764 core sit on slab foundations that have shifted over decades of hot-and-dry shrink-swell cycles. When the floor isn’t flat, an RTA CGI box sits twisted, and the doors and glides take the strain. We correct the floor or scribe the box before we ever hang a door.
- Face frame and finish checking from 100°F+ heat. Ontario summers bake the south- and west-facing walls of these older stucco homes. Low humidity pulls moisture out of wood, and CGI face frames can develop hairline checks and finish cracks. It’s cosmetic at first, but left alone it can open the grain to more damage.
- Grit-bound hinges and drawer glides from Santa Ana wind. The wind-driven dust in the Santa Ana corridor works its way into pivot points. We see glide bearings that grind and hinge pivots that bind on garage-adjacent or exterior-adjacent cabinetry. OEM-matched replacements and proper sealing keep it moving cleanly.
- Quartz seam separation over clay soils. CGI quartz and granite tops over base cabinets telegraph what the slab below is doing. In the older core, seasonal clay movement produces seam separation and chip-outs at sink cutouts. Our installs include expansion-relief seams planned around the movement.
- Water damage at sink bases and toe kicks. In a kitchen that’s seen decades of use, the sink base cabinet is the first casualty. Delamination or structural failure there usually pushes a repair into a replacement, and we’ll tell you honestly which one makes sense.
CGI Service in Ontario: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Ontario’s core ZIPs sit on hot-and-dry shrink-swell clay soils with slab-on-grade construction. That’s the root of most CGI cabinet and countertop issues we correct here. When the clay expands and contracts through the seasons, the slab moves with it – not much, but enough that a cabinet run installed flat against an out-of-level floor will eventually fight itself. Plus, the summer heat pushing past 100°F accelerates how fast timber and finishes dry out. This means every CGI install in the older core neighborhoods demands floor-flatness correction and seam planning that a newer 1990s-2000s subdivision on engineered fill a few miles east simply never needs. The product is the same. The site preparation is not. We recently finished a Rancho Cucamonga CGI service shaker cabinet and quartz countertop install in a 1962 single-story stucco tract home off the 91762 core, where the original slab had heaved enough that the base cabinet run was out of level by nearly half an inch over eight feet. Our crew ground and shimmed the floor, scribed the CGI boxes to the wall, and set the quartz with expansion-relief seams to absorb the seasonal clay movement. We also swapped in OEM-matched glides after the original set had bound up from wind-driven grit. The kitchen closed cleanly and stayed square through the next summer’s 100°F+ stretch. Good work doesn’t need a disclaimer.
CGI Models & Products We Service in Ontario
We work on the full CGI range: Ready-to-Assemble all-plywood shaker cabinets, pre-assembled semi-custom lines, quartz and granite countertop programs, and vanity and bath cabinetry. Our approach to parts is straightforward – we use OEM CGI hinges, glides, and shelf hardware when they’re available and priced sensibly. When a part is discontinued or the OEM price is out of line, we switch to a quality aftermarket equivalent that matches the load rating and mounting pattern. We repair boxes and frames when the carcass is sound, and we recommend replacement only when water damage, delamination, or structural failure makes the repair uneconomical. For Ontario homeowners, that means you’re not stuck waiting on a backordered OEM part when a matched aftermarket glide gets your drawers moving the same week. If you’re outside Ontario, our Ontario service area page covers where else we run.

FAQs – CGI Construction in Ontario
Yes, but they need to be installed for this climate. The heat and low humidity will dry out wood and finishes faster than in coastal areas, and the wind-driven grit will work into any exposed hardware. We treat the boxes, plan for movement, and use sealed or shielded hardware where the dust is worst. Call (833) 467-4075 if you want an honest read on your existing install.
Almost certainly the slab under your cabinets isn’t level anymore. The clay soils in Ontario’s older core ZIPs move seasonally, and over decades that movement tilts the slab enough to twist the cabinet box. The doors and glides are the symptoms, not the cause. We fix it at the source – shimming, scribing, or in some cases a floor-leveling compound – before re-hanging the doors with aligned hinges.
They can if the installer ignores the slab movement. Quartz doesn’t flex. When the base cabinets shift with the slab, a rigid top with no expansion relief will telegraph that movement, usually at the seams or sink cutouts. Our installs include expansion-relief seams and correct base leveling so the top isn’t fighting the house. Call (833) 467-4075 for a free estimate and we’ll check what your current tops are doing.
We handle both. Our core work is residential, but the warehouse corridor along the I-10 and 60 has plenty of offices and breakrooms with CGI vanities and utility cabinetry. The conditions are different – tilt-up buildings move less but see more dust and bigger temperature swings through the day – which is why we also tailor our San Antonio Heights CGI service approach for each site. We adjust the install approach accordingly.
A cabinet installation typically lands between $4,000 and $13,000, and a small kitchen remodel runs $9,000 to $20,000. Countertops alone range from $2,000 to $6,500. The variables are floor correction, demo, and which CGI product line you choose. Call (833) 467-4075 for an exact quote – estimates are free.
