Why Hesperia Homeowners Choose Unilock Construction

We provide independent Unilock in Hesperia construction service – paver installation, driveway rebuilds, retaining wall repair, and joint restoration for Brussels Block, Beacon Hill, Copthorne, and Stonehenge systems. Our crews know how Unilock products behave in high-desert conditions: the alkaline soil that pushes efflorescence through pavers, the wind that strips joint sand, and the freeze-thaw nights that crack poorly drained flatwork. We’re not authorized by Unilock, and we’ll tell you that straight. What we offer is hands-on experience with their product lines installed and repaired across the High Desert, plus honest repair-vs-replace advice. Call (833) 467-4075 for a free estimate on any Unilock project in Hesperia.

Why Trust Hampton Contractors for Your Unilock Construction?

Brent Calloway started working construction in the High Desert at eighteen, and he’s been dealing with Hesperia’s peculiar soil and weather ever since. He grew up just off Ranchero Road, back before the area filled in the way it has now, and picked up his foundational trade skills at Victor Valley College – framing loads, finish carpentry, and the kind of material knowledge that holds up when you’re standing on a paver patio that’s been baking in the sun for fifteen summers. Our crews train on Unilock’s installation methods specifically: correct base compaction, edge restraint, joint sand application, and drainage. That matters because Unilock pavers fail predictably when those details get skipped. We’ve torn out enough failed Unilock driveways in Hesperia to know exactly what a proper base looks like – and what happens when it’s not there. We stand behind every job we install or repair, and we’ll tell you in plain terms when a repair makes sense and when replacement is the better dollar.

Common Unilock Construction Problems We Fix in Hesperia

  • Efflorescence on Brussels Block pavers. Hesperia’s alkaline soil and intense sun pull white salt deposits to the surface of Unilock pavers, and Brussels Block shows it more than most lines. It’s not a structural problem – the salts come from moisture moving through the concrete – but it looks bad and won’t go away on its own. We clean affected pavers and apply a breathable sealer that slows moisture migration without trapping water inside the unit. Trapped moisture is what causes spalling later, so sealer choice matters.
  • Joint sand erosion from wind and flash rains. Hesperia’s high winds strip polymeric joint sand from between Unilock pavers, and when a monsoon-line storm dumps rain fast, the water channels through whatever sand remains. Pavers start to shift, weeds take root, and edges loosen. We re-sweep and compact fresh polymeric sand into the joints, then wet it properly so it sets firm. This is the most common Unilock repair we do in Hesperia, and it’s usually a same-visit fix.
  • Surface spalling on older Copthorne and Brussels Block units. Winter freeze-thaw nights in the high desert – we get them at 3,000 feet, even when the low desert doesn’t – push water inside pavers to expand and contract, and after enough cycles the top surface starts flaking off in thin layers. We see this most on Copthorne pavers installed before current manufacturing standards. Spalled pavers can sometimes be flipped or individually replaced; widespread spalling usually means a repaving job is the honest call.
  • Cracking in Stonehenge retaining wall blocks. Stonehenge wall blocks hold up well when drainage is right, but Hesperia’s expansive soils trap water behind walls, and hydrostatic pressure builds until something gives. We see cracks partway down the block face and walls starting to bow outward. The repair isn’t just swapping blocks – it’s pulling the wall section, installing drainage gravel and a perforated pipe, and rebuilding correctly. Skip the drainage and you’ll be back in the same spot in two years.
  • Settled paver driveways and patios. Hesperia’s soil – sandy, expansive, and shifting with moisture – compacts unevenly under heavy paver loads. Driveways sink in wheel tracks, patios develop low spots that pond water. We lift the affected sections, re-grade and re-compact the base, and relay the original Unilock pavers when they’re still in good shape. This is cheaper than replacement and usually restores the surface to level.

Unilock Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

For new Unilock service in Oak Hills and Hesperia installations, we use genuine Unilock pavers, wall blocks, and jointing materials – color and dimensional consistency across the pallet matter, and mixing aftermarket units into a new install risks visible mismatch. For repairs, we source quality aftermarket polymeric sands and sealers that meet or exceed Unilock specs, because those materials have improved in recent years and we want the repair to outlast the original. We stock common Unilock unit sizes and colors for Brussels Block and Beacon Hill locally, which cuts turnaround on Hesperia repair jobs. When we assess a repair vs. replacement, we look at three things: how much of the surface is spalled or settled, whether the base is intact, and what it costs to patch versus repave. If a patio has widespread spalling across more than a third of the units, we’ll tell you replacement is the better investment – patching it piecemeal just defers the full job. Call (833) 467-4075 and we’ll give you a straight assessment.

Our Unilock Service Process – Step by Step

  1. 1
On-site diagnosis. We walk the entire Unilock surface – driveway, patio, or wall – and identify the failure mode: efflorescence, joint sand loss, base settlement, drainage failure, or spalling. We check the base compaction with a probe in a few spots, because most surface problems start underneath.
  2. 2
Repair or install plan. We price the fix plainly: unit replacement, joint re-sanding, drainage correction, sealer application, or full rebuild. You get a written line-item quote – no change orders later unless we find something structural we couldn’t see.
  3. 3
Removal and base work. We pull affected pavers or wall blocks, strip failed base material, re-grade for drainage, and compact in lifts. For Hesperia jobs, we account for freeze-thaw and expansive soil – compacted base depth and drainage gravel are non-negotiable, not optional add-ons.
  4. 4
Unit install and jointing. We relay original Unilock units or install new ones from the pallet, then sweep polymeric sand into the joints and wet-set it properly. Joint sand is the difference between a patio that holds and one that starts shifting in the first wind season.
  5. 5
Sealing and final test. If sealing is part of the job – it often is for Hesperia sun exposure – we apply a breathable sealer after the joint sand has cured. We walk the finished surface with you and cover any questions before we leave.

Unilock Products We Service & Install in Hesperia

We work with Unilock Brussels Block, Beacon Hill, Copthorne, and Stonehenge product lines, covering pavers, retaining wall blocks, and the jointing systems that go with them. We install new paver driveways and patios, rebuild failing bases, repair leaning or cracked retaining walls, re-joint settled pavers, and apply sealers that perform in Hesperia’s sun and wind. Our local stock includes common unit sizes from the Brussels Block and Beacon Hill lines, which means repairs don’t wait on a special order from the manufacturer. If you have a Unilock product we didn’t list, call and ask – our crew has likely worked with it.

We Also Service These Brands

While Unilock is a brand we know deeply, we’re not a single-line shop. Our crews install and service hardscape and interior systems from KraftMaid cabinetry, Cambria and Silestone countertops, and Kohler plumbing fixtures. That range means one contractor can handle the paver driveway and the kitchen remodel without you coordinating separate trades.
